FAQ, Rent a DJ
Since you may not have hired a Disc Jockey before, I’ve taken some of the questions that have been asked from prospective clients over the years. If you are still left with questions, I would be happy to talk with you. Just give me a call or send me a quick message.
Do you offer a contract?
Yes, I hold the highest level of professionalism at Horizon DJs and provide a contract to protect both parties involved. Once you confirmed the booking, your date is locked into place and will not be available for anyone else.
May we meet with you in person before we sign a contract?
You will meet me face to face to discuss every detail that you have given us on the planning forms. Up until that point, questions can be answered by either phone or email.
How many weddings / events do you do each year?
I perform wedding ceremonies and receptions all year long with the busiest part of the season being from March through October. During these times
I have weddings booked every weekend so our skills are at the highest level.
How many other types of events do you do per year?
I also offer services for a wide range of events throughout the year including holiday parties, private, and corporate events.
Do you perform for more than one event in a day?
No, I pride ourselves on attention to detail and my garauntee is that you will have me atyour wedding/event that day, and nothing else scheduled.
What makes you different from your competitors?
First and foremost, I take pride in our work. I want you to have a relaxed and fun time and for your even to successfully turn out to be everything you wanted it to be. I know the local area, all the venues, and the people in place at the various venues personally. When you book DJ Oliver, you are not only hiring someone to play music. I take charge ensuring all your planned details and timelines are met in accordance with what you have given us. I go above and beyond our titles to direct the show for you!
Can we visit you at a performance?
I would never invite you to a wedding to see our performance, just as you would not appreciate unwanted guests at your wedding either. I do perform ongoing events throughout the year, some scheduled and others non-scheduled that you can attend.
How do you keep your music collection up-to-date?
I have an extensive music selection with over 70,000 songs currently and I update my libraries every week. If you have any special requests that I do not already have, I will make sure to acquire it for you.
How involved can we be in selecting music for our event?
This is entirely up to you. My website allows you to create a list of must play songs, as well as a do not play list. You have the liberty to select all of your music, but I have the expertise in weddings to keep the flow of the crowd going as you would like it to.
When do we need to submit our music requests and event details?
Clicking on the links on my webpage will allow you to interactively plan every detail of your wedding and include a timeline and song list.
When do you arrive to set up for our wedding?
I take the time to ensure proper set up and a start time that you provide. I will arrange a time well ahead of when you or your guests arrive with the venue staff. No set up or tear down charges are ever assesed into your package length either.
What will you wear to our wedding?
I will always present a professional look no matter the attire.
Do you bring backup equipment with you to the wedding?
Even the very best and most well-maintained equipment will malfunction at some point. For that reason, I maintain a dual redundant system. I will bring double the amount of speakers, more than enough support equipment to handle every situation and multiple backup options for this such malfunction.
Do you set up a sign or banner with your equipment?
No, I will never set up a banner or sign at your wedding. Rest assured that we are there for your motives strictly, not ours. If your guests would like to speak outside of the event, I can offer them a card or you can refer them to us.
